Sure-fire Tips for Fit for Life Fitness In-Home Personal Training

unnamedEvery year I have the privilege of successfully performing over 1000 In-Home Personal Training sessions. I absolutely love that fact that I can help my clients get in the best shape of their lives right in the convenience and privacy of their own home.

The purpose of this article is to help my clients get the most out of their In-Home Personal Training sessions.

Tip #1: Be Prepared
In order to get the most out of your sessions, it is important to utilize every minute of the hour we have together. In order to do that, we want to make sure that you and all participants are prepared before we arrive at your home.

  • Fill water bottles
  • Put all pets away
  • Avoid eating to close to your workout
  • Put cell phone on silent or do not disturb
  • Arrange Furniture for Workout
  • Notify guard gate or doorman
  • Avoid scheduling anything that can interfere with your workout (i.e. Comcast Installation)
  • Put together a workout playlist

Tip #2: Fuel Your Body before and after your workouts
The right pre & post-workout meal will give you a clear advantage. However the wrong meal or no meal can leave you feeling sluggish, lightheaded or even bloated.

Tip #3: Be Consistent
TRX Suspension TrainingWhen making a healthy lifestyle change, you are essentially breaking unhealthy habits and creating new healthy ones.Your first and foremost task is to adhere to our new program. Exercising on a regular basis is essential to help you establish these new habits and routines. It is imperative that you complete to your personal training sessions and your “self” workouts on a consistent basis.

You consistency will determine your success.

Shooting for perfect attendance
Professional and personal obligations at times may interfere will your personal training sessions. However, this is the time you reserved for you. This is your time. The ONLY reason to cancel a session is if you are sick, or have an emergency.

When going out of town
If you are going to be out of town reschedule your sessions in advance so you don’t fall behind. We also offer our clients a workout plan for the road and/or live FaceTime or Skype sessions.

In-Between Sessions: Blocking time for exercise
Many people find that the first thing in the morning is the best time for them to exercise. If that is you, then get up everyday at least 30 minutes early and get it done. Other people have the option to do an afternoon workout and others like to exercise at night. Regardless of when you exercise, block time and honor your commitment to yourself.
